And Now for Something Completely Different…
Sometimes when we bury ourselves in the ruminations of the “intellectual elite”, we can lose sight of the fact that they are no less human than we are. It’s good to have the occasional reminder that we’re all in this together and that there’s nothing particularly magical about the words that come from any one person.
Plantinga gets hot
Dawkins eats crow
Wow, Plantinga comes out looking a lot cleaner out of these 2 videos. 😉
Seriously though, I like this post – we’re all human and in this together. There are smart people of all different religions and worldviews who are able to rationalize what they believe but that doesn’t validate any of them.
I don’t know. Plantinga seems to doubt that he can properly use a digital thermostat. How can I possibly trust him to explain the concept of properly basic belief? I love how in this video he’s just a regular guy who didn’t do preventive maintenance on his AC unit. I don’t think the news crew had any idea that he’s probably the most well-regarded philosopher of religion alive today.
LOL, yeah I kept waiting for the philosophical question to come up, but it was just purely about a guy whose AC froze over!
Plantinga makes point about how thermostats are unreliable, therefore God.
